WHEELS INSTEAD OF LEGS
A priest is longing for something that might be the worst for others: to amputate his legs. He suffers from a rare disease called BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder). To him, his legs are a foreign body, it feels like they wouldn't belong to him.
Muth used to live two lifes. One openly as a priest and another secretely as a disabled person, always in fear, someone would find out about his trips in a wheelchair. One day he couldn't bear the heavy burden anymore and, doubting how his sectret demand could be in accordance with his beliefs, he opened up to a bishop.
It changed his life for good.
Beeing given the chance to start in another city with a new church community, he now uses a wheelchair and leg splints, that subdue his desire for amputation. Finally he leads the life he didn't dare to dream for: as a priest in a wheelchair.
